One of the few friends

to show for my wedding

claims to be an impostor

But I don’t pretend

to be anything I'm not

I have no illusions about

strengths or shortcomings

It might surprise you then

to know my life's a movie

everyone's watching

when I sleep, the actors

feed addictions or take naps

There are a few things

left to reconcile

If everyone’s watching

who are the jesters

playing lead roles,

bit parts and voiceovers?

No cause for to alarm

but in my periphery

I see pinhole light

piercing the seams

and boundaries of the set

At night I’ve seen

distant galaxies
