The dues for membership classifications presented in the new By-Laws adopted November 5, 2012, be as follow:

Regular Membership Classification as defined in the By-Laws, dues to remain at $20 annually.

Student Membership Classification as defined in the By-Laws, dues to remain at $10 annually.

Family Membership Classification as defined in the By-Laws, dues to be $30 annually for a family of two; dues to be $40 annually for a family of three or more.

The motion was seconded by Steve Plank and voted in by majority vote, 13 members present at the vote.

Note that as described in the By-Laws that each Family Membership holds one vote per family membership and the voting member will be designated by name as the vote holder. Also note, as an example, that qualifying students from the same family may join as student members at $10 each. They are not required to join as a Family Membership. Student members do not hold a vote. Regular Memberships hold one vote.

DIRECTOR NEEDED:

Member Arden Strycker, Program Director, will need to be replaced due to a relocation. Daryl Doughty asked for thoughts on a replacement.

PROGRAM PRESENTATION:

Daryl Doughty presented a thought provoking DVD produced by Stephen McEveety on the Star of Bethlehem. It presents a possible astronomical explanation for the Star of Bethlehem. It explores the biblical story and historical clues to provide a cohesive explanation based on real astronomical signs and events seen in the heavens tied to the biblical story in the Gospel of Matthew.

The next BAS meeting will tentatively be held on January 7, 2013, in the upstairs library meeting room.

Respectfully submitted
