Ms. C. Bastone and Ms. A. Di Benedetto are excited to welcome back our Grade 12 SHSM students and our new incoming Grade 11 students. The month of September always brings about excitement for the new and upcoming events planned for our group. During the month of September, the SHSM liaisons have been working with the Guidance Department, the Cooperative Education Department and the YCDSB Dual Credit Department in promoting both Business and Health and Wellness SHSM to grade 10 students. Over the past two years our programs continue to grow and the student experience is much more enriched.

St. Jean de Brébeuf SHSM students will jump start their certifications this year with a Teen Ranch experience. There, our students will be earning their elective certifications in Personal Inventory, Leadership and Group Dynamics. Students had the pleasure of working with our community at Teen Ranch in Orangeville, ON for a fun-filled two day outdoor adventure on September 30 and October 1st. The students worked on their leadership skills, teamwork and communication skills as well as refined their ability to work collaboratively and productively on a team. They participated in forest initiative games, horseback riding, night hiking, a giant swing as well as campfire activities. Ms. Bastone and Ms. Di Benedetto are so proud of how well our students performed and the amazing learning and reflection that took place. Students showed courage by coming out of their comfort zone and participating in new activities. Way to go Black Bears!!!
