Special Education

Welcome back students and welcome all Grade 9's. It has been a very busy and exciting start to a new school year in the Student Services Department. We are excited to welcome back Mr. S. Bongiorno, Ms. D. Brusco and Ms. A .Wilski. We also welcome to our department Ms. V. Barone who is in for Ms. A. Micucci, Ms. N. Di Donato who is in for Ms. F. Gregoris and Ms. L. Marando who is in for Ms. C. Resciniti.

Since the beginning of the school year our students have been busy building an atmosphere that promotes both learning and respect. Our students in the culinary class are learning about healthy eating and meal preparation. They are learning how to shop, balance a budget and carry out a recipe to create mouth-watering treats and meals.Soon the Baking Black Bears will be baking their signature treats to sell to the SJDB staff. Our students enjoy interacting with staff while learning to manage money and increase their oral communication skills. Everyone looks forward to buying the freshly baked goods every week.

Our Student Services Resource Centre continues to provide accommodations to our students and we look forward to continuing to meet the needs of our exceptional students so that they can achieve personal and academic success.

We look forward to a great semester filled with many opportunities for our students to excel and create memories that will last a lifetime.
