This week in our English Time class in SIN Cap de Creus we have celebrated Halloween by making a nice Halloween lantern that the kids can take home. It's been an amazing experience as we all got really carried away by this project. Here below you will find the instructions of the activity.
MAKE A HALLOWEEN LANTERN
(Activity proposed on the October issue of the e-magazine on the Oxford On Line Learning Zone)
Halloween is on 31 October. Traditional Halloween lanterns are made from pumpkins. People cut faces in the pumpkins and put candles inside them. If you haven't got a pumpkin, you can make this spooky Halloween lantern to decorate your house.
You need:
A jar
A roll of bandage
Wiggly eyes
Glue
A paintbrush
A small candle
Use the paintbrush to cover the outside of the jar with glue.
Wrap the bandage around the jar. You can paint more glue over the bandage to make it stick.
Glue wiggly eyes near the top of the jar.
Place a small candle in the jar. Ask an adult to light the candle for you.
Your spooky lantern will look great on Halloween. Why not make more Halloween lanterns for your house, or for your friends?
