Savour the flavour of Shakespeare

Coinciding with Shakespeare’s death on 23^rd April 1616, this second term students at INS Narcís Monturiol brushed up on their knowledge of Shakespeare in a fun and active way.

The Shakespeare’s project covers not only the cultural context but contents included in the 2nd of ESO core curriculum such as “there was/there were”, “the simple past” and “the layout of a good biography”.

To help our students appreciate Shakespeare and his times we used a variety of classroom resources - we challenged our students with crosswords, riddles and quizzes on Shakespeare; they worked together to explore his most popular plays and prepared an oral presentation plus a poster; they put themselves in the shoes of a biographer to design a leaflet on Shakespeare’s life, language and career; and they completed some worksheets that accompanied the viewing of Romeo and Juliet and other interesting videos.
