SICK LEAVE
Employee can use their sick leave if they’ve any serious medical condition or get sick due to weather change condition or they can stay at home to address their health and safety needs without losing pay.
All the permanent employees shall be entitled to eight (8) sick leave(s) in a working year. Sick leave can be granted on a prorated basis if the service term is less than one year.
In case of minor medical condition employee can submit leave application with doctor recommendation of sick leaves or if situation is serious, they can submit their leave application on first day at work after recovering. In any case of bad health condition, it is necessary to inform line manager & HR department either formally or informally.
It is imperative that the employee provide a certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner if the sick leave applied for is greater than three (3) days in succession. Without the medical certificate, leaves will unpaid.
Sick Leave(s) if combined with public holidays or weekends will be treated as annual leave(s), unless the employee provides a Medical Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner, upon their return to service, if the sick leave term is greater than three (3) days.
Employees can avail only one (1) paid sick leave during their 3 months probationary period.
Un-availed sick leaves cannot be en-cashed.
