Inspect and secure the ceiling to ensure ceiling paneling is secure and will bear the weight of the added insulation and air seal all penetrations
Only method for installing mobile home ceiling is from gable ends NEVER cut the roof.
Look for gable end access thru existing vent or hole.
If possible cut one in on both ends
Verify heat shield around combustion venting using a See-Snake or verify that the flue is not already a high temperature vent (i.e. furnace is vented with pvc)
Tape together muffler pipe or 2" PVC to get desired length needed to properly fill attic space.
Use caution when working with PVC. There is a much higher static charge that can hurt the worker.
Insert fill tube into gable ends and prepare to blow in insulation .
Loose fill fiberglass is the only material to be used in WAP
Blow fiberglass insulation through the fill-tube into the cavity to the R-value specified on the work order.
Sweep back and forth as much as possible to get even coverage.
Install gable vents.
Conduct a Worst Case draft test to verify Category I, II and III appliances are venting safely before leaving home for the day.
Testing shall be recorded on the WAP Worst Case Draft form.
A dated insulation certificate signed by the installer will be attached in the interior electrical panel or other approved location.
Certificate shall include: Insulation Type, Coverage Area, installed thickness and minimum settled thickness, Number of bags installed in accordance with manufacturer specifications
