Airsealed Kneewall
Remove or adjust existing insulation to allow access to kneewall framing
Install a tightly fit rigid air barrier to fill the entire opening between the roof rafters at the top of the kneewall
Install a tightly fit rigid air barrier to fill the entire opening between the outer ceiling joists and the bottom of the kneewall
Sweep or vacuum all surfaces where sealants will be applied to remove dust and debris and allow for maximum adhesion
Install a continuous Air seal around seams, joints, cracks, edges penetrations and connections to provide an airtight, durable seal that does not move, bend or sag.
This should include connection between interior surface and framing, and any cracks in drywall or paneling
For Kneewalls with tongue & groove paneling, cut and fit tightly an air barrier such as wood or rigid foam between the framing members to establish an air barrier on the attic side of the paneling.
Sealant should not be visible in the living space.

Follow the work order to either reinstall the old Insulation, or install new insulation
Conduct a Worst Case Draft Test to verify Category I, II and III appliances are venting safely before leaving home for the day.
Testing shall be recorded using the WAP Worst Case Draft Test from.
