⚠️ The Wiki is getting some updates. Pardon the dust! ⚠️
At the heart of Willamette Week’s Give!Guide is a goal of encouraging giving by donors who are 35 & under to build a culture of active citizenship. It’s one of the many ways we create a more compassionate and connected community.
We created the 35 & Under Challenge to achieve this goal. Read more about that below.
🔥 On Big Give Days, some prizes are reserved just for 35 & Under donors. We design some BGDs specifically to incentivize younger donors (tattoos, adventures, games), so take advantage of 'em!
If your nonprofit has the most unique donors aged 35 & under for your nonprofit category, then you win a $1,000 cash prize! Thanks to a generous donor, it's as easy as that.
Every donation from a donor who self-identifies as 35 & Under (during checkout) counts as a vote for your nonprofit. Donors can give any amount and as often as they want, but their vote will only count once. Why? Because the system is counting unique donors, not total number of donations. Donors can also "vote" for as many nonprofits as they like.
Thankfully, our website tracks this data automatically. That means you can see the leaderboards in realtime with the giving stats on giveguide.org. (There were issues with the math in 2025. It was fixed, but please tell us if something's not adding up!)
During the first week of January following the campaign's closure, G!G HQ will review the stats and declare winners. Each category will have a winner (there's never been a tie) and each winning organization will get a $1,000 check from G!G on payday. That's 10 winners and $10,000 in cash prizes! 💰
Winning nonprofits are announced via email to our full mailing list and posted to social media, too.
