WORKING THE FINAL TASKS
This week's the second to the last week of my internship journey. I am already thinking of what might happen the moment I leave the school. So we had a conversation with my mentor regarding the things that will be done for him not to be burdened the moment I am done with my practice teaching.
Since this week's a also a free week for teachers because of their duties and responsibilities for the upcoming elections, I used the time to design quizzes and summative assessments for my Grade 9 Learners. I made the quiz on Monday and Tuesday, the Summative on Wednesday and had it consulted by my mentor on Thursday.
After multiple encounters with crafting of assessments, I got lesser corrections this time which is subject the instructions alone and not with the formulation of questions. Afterwards, I started printing the test questionnaires for both Long Quiz 1, 2, and Summative Test. On Friday, I sorted the assessment forms per section of learners.
Having free time, I got random thoughts about my teaching internship journey. I became used to the school works, I developed the love for the teaching profession, I even feel the guilt when I am not doing anything because with my experience, I am used of doing multiple tasks within a day. There I concluded that teaching is indeed a noble profession. The nobility isn't seen actually, but felt. That's what happen to me when I heard all of the feedbacks concerning myself as a practice teacher.
Now, I can prepare for my departure knowing that I made my part as a teacher intern. It feels heavy because I was so attached with my colleagues, with my students and with my work, yet, I am thankful for it gave me the chance to prove where I do belong and what purpose am I here for.
