THE REALITY OF TEACHING PROFESSION FROM A PRACTICE TEACHER'S PERSPECTIVE
Practice Teaching provides aspiring teachers the opportunity to explore the world of education. The exploration determines who are capable and who are ready to face the reality. As one of the teachers in the making, practice teaching allowed me to see things on my own, making me believed I have enough of what it takes to become noble.
With regards to the practice teaching journey, I have prepared an electronic portfolio that tells about the totality of my internship journey. It provides the necessary documents and evidences of the teaching internship experiences as a Practice Teacher from West Visayas State University - College of Education, in partial fulfillment for the requirements in the course ED218 - Teaching Internship in Secondary Schools for the 2nd Semester of School Year 2021-2022 .
The portfolio generally showcases the actual experiences of the practice teacher, reflections and thought on teaching profession and its domains, realizations on the responsibilities and the lessons learned during the internship program.
The title of the e-portfolio speaks about the deep generalization of the practice teacher on the teaching profession which was the product of the whole teaching internship journey. "More Than What Was Taught" refers to the idea of in-depth learning about teacher responsibilities that are not expected to be of higher levels as compared to what was being shared and visualized while in the preparation period. "The reality of teaching profession from a practice teacher's perspective" provides the evidences to the general thought which basically came from experiences, realizations, and takeaways.
