Hello my name is Eric Poldervaart and I am the Agricultural Mechanics teacher here at West Valley ECHS. I grew up on a dairy between the towns of Orland and Corning in an area called Capay. I went to Corning high school and then Chico State where I graduated with a degree in Ag Science back in 1997. After college I took over my family dairy which I ran until recently when I made the decision to sell the dairy and return to college to obtain my teaching credential.

Somewhere along this journey I was lucky enough to meet my wife Stephanie who I have been married to for 20 years. Together we have one son named Alan who is now 19. I am grateful to be here at West Valley teaching Agriculture Mechanics and am enjoying this experience very much. It is incredibly enjoying to help a student learn to weld for the first time, or helping an advanced student build their very own project.
