I want to welcome all of you to West Valley home of the Eagles. My name is James O’Brien and I’ve been an Eagle for 21 years. I was a graduate, coach and now a teacher at West Valley. My time here has been amazing and I look forward for years to come. I teach Career Choices, Economics and World History, I am also the Athletic Director. I coach Varsity Boys Basketball, Track and Football. My days are often very busy. I attended Chico State and received a BA in Social Science and also received my credential from there as well.

I live in Cottonwood and am married to an amazing women named Caitlin. We have three children: Jackson (8), Lucas (5) and Emma (4). Yes, my life away from school is very busy too. We enjoy going to the lake, fishing and playing sports. When I get free time I enjoy playing golf with my brother and friends. My goal as a teacher is to create a positive environment where each child has an opportunity to learn. I hope your child’s time here at West Valley is positive and full of knowledge.
