Welcome to Mr. Soksoda's Modified Math class. I have two AA from Shasta College, a bachelor in psychology from Simpson University, a Masters in Special Education from National University, and working on my doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction through Liberty University. This is my 6th years teaching. I am married and have three children. My oldest just moved out and attending North Dakota State University studying computer science, my daughter is a junior and she plans to go to Colorado State so she can compete in Alpine. My youngest in the 5th grade. We have two dogs, a cat and few rodeo cattle. I am a former general contractor, Muay Thai fighter, and bull rider.
I love teaching math and helping students get better in mathematics. I believe everyone can learn math. I got into teaching because when I was a paraprofessional I saw how much growth a student could have in Math with the correct support. I want to give my students that support and see them grow as math students. I also coach football here at West Valley. I am the defensive back, receiver coach and the special teams coach. I enjoy seeing players develop into better athletes and better people.
