I am a West Valley graduate, class of 2000. I began teaching in 2004 down in the Bay Area. In 2013 my husband and I moved back up here to be closer to our families. We wanted our two boys to know their grandparents and to grow up with plenty of space to roam. I thought for sure I would become a stay-at-home mom who made their own granola and kale chips. I very quickly discovered that I was not that person! I missed the classroom. I missed the students. In 2016 I began teaching at Red Bluff High School. When the opportunity to teach at West Valley opened up, I knew I had to make the move.
I love teaching English. I try my hardest to make the literature come alive for my students. I try to help them feel confident in their writing abilities. We practice having discussions because this is a skill they will need in the adult world. I hope to meet my students' needs and to provide them with an education that will prove useful to their lives.
