Hi I’m Mrs. Fife. I’m a Social Science teacher here at West Valley. I’m married and we have two boys that are both graduates of West Valley HS. I love to travel, take my ‘68 Firebird to car shows, go camping, quad riding, I’m kind of a computer nerd, and I love the Oregon Ducks - Go Ducks!. Oh ya, and we have 3 cats!
I’ve taught all subjects in Social Science, but this year I’m teaching American Government and Economics. I’m also the Social Science Department Chair and our site Educational Technology Coach. I get to work with some of the best educators in Northern California.
Education is important, but school should also be fun, so I encourage students to get involved and make great high school memories. I was the freshman girls basketball coach for eight years. My teams tied for 2nd once and won five NAL titles!
As a teacher, I strive to get to know my students on a personal level and make learning meaningful. A student-centered approach to education keeps students engaged and actively learning. I enjoy technology based student facilitated projects and I am always looking for great teaching techniques that will empower students as high achievers.
I am excited and passionate about teaching. I love my job and look forward to each new day and the opportunity to touch young lives and make a positive impact.
West Valley is a very special place.
