Family

I’ve been married almost 32 years to my wife Judy. We have four kids, Jessica, Jacob, Travis and Tommy. All are West Valley grads and all graduated with degrees in Agriculture from college and work in the Agriculture industry. This is my 29^th year teaching.

Why I Teach

I was nearly a failure in high school because of a very rough home life. I only went to college because I received Social Security survivor benefits. After graduating from Cal Poly, I worked in the Landscaping industry overseeing the design, purchase and installation of multimillion dollar projects until I was 30 years old. I teach because I love kids and love agriculture.

What I Coach

I coach Football as well as many FFA contest teams. The FFA contests I coach are Creed Speech, Prepared Speech, Job interview, Advanced Parliamentary Procedure, Novice Parliamentary Procedure, Fruit Tree Judging, Grapevine Judging, Grapevine Pruning and Nursery/Landscape. Last year in the FFA State Finals Contests we were 6^th in Vine Pruning, 5^th in Nursery/Landscape, 4^th in Job Interview, 4^th in Creed, 2^nd in Novice Parli Pro and State Champions in Trees.
