Level 88 is a level that resembles a series of corridors within an art gallery. These corridors consist of many locked doors on both parallel sides. There are frames of artwork shown on the wall everywhere, and the lights above the floor are circular and seem pretty. When you enter this level (usually from Level 87), you will exit out of an exit door ironically. There are tons of artwork hanged within these infinite hallways.
Staring into the paintings will cause a risk to yourself. You will start to lose oxygen rapidly. or rarely you could gain too much oxygen and get oxygen poisoning. However, you are unable to die from such causes in this level. Around 3-4 hours of staring, you will be perfectly conscious despite losing or gaining too much oxygen from staring into paintings. But don't fall for this, because according to The P.A.E., if you stare for more than 12 hours, you will start to lose skin and bone and will become paint. If you continue to do this health risk with the paintings, you will become a being made of paint itself. This cannot be undone.
Other than this risk, there is nothing else to note in this level. Nothing else is harmful or will harm you.
One painting in particular which is pretty common to find here acts like a portal and is a drawing of a portal. Jumping into the portal will yield entrance to Level 90. A hole can also be found somewhere in the halls, where going down the ladder in the hole will allow entrance to Level 124.
There are no known colonies and outposts found in Level 88.
