Step 1: Press the C key (Hot-Key) on your keyboard to create a CIRCLE from a centre point sketch.
Select the plane that you would like to start sketching on. In this instance we will use the XY plane (the floor).
Step 2: Select the center point where the red and green line cross over and drag a circle outwards.
Enter a dimension of 8mm > Press Enter to confirm.
Step 3: Zoom in closer to the circle you created by using the magnifying glass (zoom tool), scroll wheel on a mouse, or two fingers on a trackpad.
Step 4: Create a second circle measuring 7mm diameter.
Select the center point where the red and green line cross over and drag a circle outwards.
Enter a dimension of 7mm > Press Enter to confirm.
Step 5: Click on the green tick in the top right corner of the screen to 'finish sketch'.
Now select the home button above the view cube > This will change your view to isometric.
Step 6: Press the L key on your keyboard to enter the LINE command.
Select the XZ Plane.
Step 7: Start a new line drawing starting where the red and green lines overlap.
Create a vertical line measuring 150mm. Left-click to finish that line and start a new line.
Create a second line measuring 50mm and extend this line to the right of the first line.
Step 8: Select the Fillet tool from the top toolbar (next to the scissors).
Select the vertical line, then select the angled line > Enter a radius of 20mm.
Press Enter to confirm.
Step 9: Click on the green tick in the top right corner of the screen to 'finish sketch'.
Now select the home button above the view cube > This will change your view to isometric.
Step 10: Select the 'Sweep' Tool from the top toolbar.
Go to the 'Create' dropdown menu > Select Sweep. This will open a new 'Sweep' window.
Step 11: Ensure the 'Profile' cursor is selected.
Zoom in on the two circles created earlier and highlight the area in the middle.
This area should turn blue.
Step 12: Next, ensure the 'Path' cursor is selected.
Select the line created in Step 7.
Press 'OK' in the Sweep window to complete the straw model.
Step 13: Press the A key on your keyboard to enter the APPEARANCE command.
Click on the 'Metal' folder > Click on the 'Stainless' folder > Select 'Stainless Steel - Polished'
Finally, drag the selected material directly onto the model.
Step 14: Use the snipping tool on Windows to take screenshots of your final straw from a variety of angles and upload these images to your slide presentation.
