Initial Setup: Before we start, please ensure that you grid settings are as follows:
To change these at any time you can go to the 'Grids and Snaps' tool on the bottom tool bar, then 'Grid Settings'.
Step 2: Press the R key on your keyboard to enter the RECTANGLE command.
Select the plane that you would like to start sketching on. In this instance we will use the XY plane (the floor).
Step 3: Draw a 2-point (portrait) rectangle.
Ideally you should place the first corner on the grid as shown. At this stage dimensions are not important.
Step 4: Press the D key on your keyboard to enter the DIMENSION command.
Click on the longer side of the rectangle and enter a dimension of 55mm.
Repeat this process with the shorter side and enter a dimension of 50mm.
Step 5: Click on the 'Insert' drop-down menu from the top toolbar.
Select 'Canvas'. This will open a new window.
From the new window, select the 'Insert from my computer' button.
Locate the image in your downloads folder.
Step 6: Once you have selected your image, select the rectangle that you created earlier to place the canvas.
Press ENTER to confirm.
Step 7: Select the Fillet tool from the top menu.
Step 8: Press the C key (Hot-Key) on your keyboard to create a CIRCLE from a centre point sketch.
Left Eye:
Select the grid point that is at the centre of the ghosts left eye.
Enter a dimension of 13mm. Press Enter to confirm the circle.
Right Eye:
Press the C key again to start a new circle.
Select the grid point that is at the centre of the ghosts right eye.
Enter a dimension of 13mm. Press Enter to confirm the circle.
Step 9: Press the C key (Hot-Key) on your keyboard to create a CIRCLE from a centre point sketch.
Left Pupil:
Select the grid point that is at the centre of the ghosts left pupil.
Enter a dimension of 6mm. Press Enter to confirm the circle.
Right Pupil:
Press the C key again to start a new circle.
Select the grid point that is at the centre of the ghosts right pupil.
Enter a dimension of 6mm. Press Enter to confirm the circle.
Step 10: Press the L key on your keyboard to enter the LINE command.
Start a new line drawing which starts one grid space up from the bottom left corner of the rectangle > extend this first line diagonally down until it meets the bottom line as shown.
Create a second diagonal line that extends 3 grid spaces right and 3 grid spaces up as shown.
Repeat this process to trace the bottom of the image on the canvas.
Press ENTER to complete the zig zagged line.
Step 11: Select the Fillet tool from the top menu.
Repeat this process all the way along the zig zagged line.
Step 12: Click on the green tick in the top right corner of the screen to 'finish sketch'.
Now select the home button above the view cube > This will change your view to isometric.
Step 13: Go to the toolbar on the left-hand side and select the eyeball to hide the canvas (this is no longer required).
Step 14: Press the E key on your keyboard to enter the EXTRUDE command.
Select the entire ghost and pull this downwards, or simply enter the dimension of -10mm in the dimension box.
Press ENTER to complete the extrusion.
Step 13: Go to the toolbar on the left-hand side.
Expand the sketches tab and select the eyeball next to sketch one to reveal the sketch that we created earlier.
Step 14: Press the E key on your keyboard to enter the EXTRUDE command.
Select the Ghost's eyes and enter a dimension of 1 mm.
Step 15: Press the E key on your keyboard to enter the EXTRUDE command.
Select the Ghost's pupils and enter a dimension of 2 mm.
Step 16: Go to the toolbar on the left-hand side.
Expand the sketches tab and select the eyeball next to sketch one to hide the sketch that we created earlier.
Step 17: Press the A key on your keyboard to enter the APPEARANCE command.
Expand the 'Miscellaneous' tab > Select the red wax material from the list and drag this directly onto the model.
Alternatively, type 'wax' in the search box and the material should appear.
Step 18: Press the A key on your keyboard to enter the APPEARANCE command.
Select the 'Faces' radial button from the top menu.
Select the natural wax material and drag this on to the top face of the eye and the edge face of the eye to apply the natural wax finish to these areas.
This step can be a little tricky - take your time...
Step 19: Press the F key on your keyboard to enter the FILLET command.
Carefully select the four edges shown.
Enter a dimension of 2 mm and press ENTER to confirm.
