Initial Setup: Before we start, please ensure that you grid settings are as follows:
To change these at any time you can go to the 'Grids and Snaps' tool on the bottom tool bar, then 'Grid Settings'.
Step 1: Press the R key on your keyboard to enter the RECTANGLE command.
Select the plane that you would like to start sketching on. In this instance we will use the XY plane (the floor).
Step 2: Draw a 2-point rectangle.
Ideally you should place the first corner on the grid as shown. At this stage dimensions are not important.
Step 3: Press the D key on your keyboard to enter the DIMENSION command.
Click on the shorter side of the rectangle and enter a dimension of 50mm.
Repeat this process with the longer line and enter a dimension of 70mm.
Step 4: Click on the green arrow in the top right corner of the screen to 'finish sketch'.
This will change your view to isometric.
Step 5: Press the E key on your keyboard to enter the EXTRUDE command.
Select the rectangle you created in step 3 and pull this outwards.
Size should be 20 mm exactly.
Step 6: Press the A key on your keyboard to enter the APPEARANCE command.
Expand the 'Miscellaneous' tab > Select the wax material from the list and drag this directly onto the model.
Step 6: Press the F key on your keyboard to enter the FILLET command.
Carefully select all 12 edges.
Enter a dimension of 10mm and press ENTER to confirm.
Step 7: At the top of the screen find the CREATE dropdown menu.
Select 'Create Sketch'.
Step 8: With the sketch tool still selected, select the top face of the soap.
Please note: you may wish to use the view cube to adjust your view to help with this.
You should now notice that a new sketch toolbar has appeared.
Step 9: At the top of the screen find the CREATE dropdown menu.
Select 'TEXT'.
Step 10: Still on the top face, select a point within the rectangle that is two grid squares down and on the left. You should notice that your cursor turns green.
Enter the following data:
Press ENTER to confirm the text details.
Step 11: Press the M key on your keyboard to enter the MOVE command.
Carefully select the SOAP text created in step 10.
Enter a Y Distance dimension of 2mm and press ENTER to confirm.
You should now see the text centered exactly.
Step 11: Right-Click on the soap text and then select 'Explode Text'.
You should see the outer lines of the text change yellow.
Step 12: Press the E key on your keyboard to enter the EXTRUDE command.
Carefully select the text you exploded in step 11.
Enter a dimension of -1mm. Press ENTER to confirm.
Step 13: Press CTRL+4.
This will change the visual style from 'Shaded with visible edges only' to 'shaded'.
Press Windows Key+SHIFT+S to take a screenshot of your final CAD model.
