Step 1: Expand the bodies tab. Select any body that overlaps with another body and needs to be moved...
Press the M key on your keyboard to enter the MOVE command.
Use the arrow(s) to move the body laterally. Press Enter.
Step 2: Expand the bodies tab.
Double-click on the body text and rename the bodies as follows:
Step 3: Expand the bodies tab.
Select 'Plate Top' > Hold the SHIFT key > Select 'Screw Top 2'
Right-Click and on the fly out menu select 'Create Components from Bodies'
This will turn all of the bodies into components ready for assembly...
Step 4: Expand the bodies tab.
Hide the following parts:
Note: Click on the eye icon to hide these...
Step 5: Press the J key on your keyboard to enter the JOINT command.
With 'component 1' selected, select the outside cylinder of the bottom screw.
With 'component 2' selected, select the inside surface of one of the holes in the bottom plate.
Finally, select the arrow pointing downwards and enter a dimension of 2.5mm. Press Enter.
Repeat the process for bottom screw 2.
Step 6: Press the J key to enter the JOINT command.
With component 1 selected, select the top face of the top plate exactly on the hole.
With component 2 selected, select the top face of the bottom screw exactly on the outside of the cylinder.
Finally, select the arrow pointing upwards and enter a dimension of 2.5mm. Press Enter.
Step 7: Press the J key to enter the JOINT command.
Change to the top view using the view cube.
With component 1 selected, select the top face of the top screw exactly in the middle.
With component 2 selected, select the bottom of the hole in the bottom screw. Press Enter.
Repeat the process for 'Top Screw 2.'
