Step 1: Change from the 'Design' environment to the 'Manufacture' environment.
Step 2: Select the 'Setup' drop-down menu > Select 'New Setup'.
This will start the process of setting up the stock material and will open up a new window...
Step 3: Select the left corner of the top face of the stock - this is point the CNC router recognises as the home position.
In the window, select 'OK' to confirm your choice.
Please note: If your X, Y and Z axis are not oriented correctly, you may need to fix this.
Please go to the Setting Up The Stock - Fixing Any Problems page.
Step 4: From the top menu, select the '2D' drop-down menu and then select 'Bore'.
We will use this tool in the next step.
Step 5: With the bore tool still selected, click on the two 6.1mm holes.
Press 'OK' to confirm these selections. This will open a new window asking using to select a tool...
Step 6: Within the new window, select 'Sample Tools - Metric'.
Select 04mm (4mm Flat Endmill).
Select the 'Select' button to confirm your choice.
Step 7: To check your progress, from the top menu, select the 'Actions' drop-down menu and then select 'Simulate'.
We will run the simulation in the next step.
Step 8: To run the simulation, simply press the play button.
We can follow what will happen with the CNC router.
Step 9: From the top menu, select the '2D' drop-down menu and then select '2D Pocket'.
We will use this tool in the next step.
Step 10: With the '2D Pocket' tool still selected, click on the 3 recessed areas.
Within the pop-up window, select the 'passes' tab > Select the 'Multiple Depths' radial button > Change the 'Maximum Roughing Stepdown' distance to 1mm.
Press 'OK' to confirm these selections.
Step 11: To check your progress, from the top menu, select the 'Actions' drop-down menu and then select 'Simulate'.
To run the simulation, simply press the play button.
We can follow what will happen with the CNC router.
Step 12: Select the '2D' drop-down menu > Select '2D Contour'.
This will open a new 2D Contour menu.
Step 13: Select the '2D' drop-down menu > Select '2D Contour'.
With the '2D Contour' tool still selected, click on the outside edge of the bottom of the box.
Within the pop-up window, select the 'passes' tab > Select the 'Multiple Depths' radial button > Change the 'Maximum Roughing Stepdown' distance to 1mm.
Press 'OK' to confirm these selections.
Step 14: To check your progress, from the top menu, select the 'Actions' drop-down menu and then select 'Simulate'.
To run the simulation, simply press the play button.

Step 15: Select the 'Actions' drop-down menu > Select 'Post Process'.
This will open a new Post Process window.
Step 16: Within the Post Process window, select or enter the following:
Post: 'Eding CNC/USBCNC / eding'
Name: 'CNC Box'
Output Folder: 'D:/' (USB thumb drive)
