Student Services (Sixth Form) - Student Conferences

Throughout the year, Tutor Reps collect feedback and share it with relevant managers via the Student Conference. Student Conference meets three times a year and is responsible for:

Holding the Student Union Executive to account
Collecting and discussing feedback around issues discussed in Core Studies
Advising the College and the Student Union Executive on its change-making priorities.

We listen and provide support towards resolving issues where we can. Check back regularly for to each term so that you can see what your Reps are discussing on your behalf - watch this space.

Want to be a Tutor Rep?

Tutor Reps and their deputies are elected at the start of the academic year by each Core Studies Group. You will be given the opportunity to be selected for the role within this group.

If at a later stage you are interested in being a Tutor Rep please speak to your Core Studies Tutor. Conferences are open forums and can be attended by any student, regardless of whether you are a Tutor Rep, or not.

A number of changes have been made following feedback through Learner Voice activities (Student Conferences, Student Liaison Committees and SUE).

Some changes can be made fairly quickly, while others need more time to work out. This is when proposed changes create significant knock-on effects for existing processes and systems, or where additional funding needs to be sought. Other things cannot be changed, but we try to provide a clear reason and reassurance where this is the case.
