Our Purpose
The purpose of the Hoops and Homework Club is to provide middle school students with an opportunity to receive homework help from high schoolers in a productive, focused setting, and to give students of all ages a fun way to stay active after school.
meeting days/times/locations
The club will meet every Tuesday after school, starting 9/30.
2:35- meet at the athletic entrance, walk down to the middle school together
2:45-3:15 homework portion
3:15-4:00 basketball portion
activities you do during meetings
Every Tuesday, we will meet at the athletic entrance of the high school immediately after school ends, and at 2:35, walk down to the middle school together. (If we've already left, you can meet us there.) We will then help the middle schoolers with homework, ensuring the environment stays quiet and productive. High schoolers can also work on their own homework if they would like. Then, at 3:15, we will go to the middle school's old gym and play basketball for 45 minutes. We will have multiple games of pick-up, knock-out, and more, so everyone can constantly be in a game and be active.
requirements for participation
We strongly encourage all members to attend every Tuesday so we can maintain consistency and build strong connections with the middle school students. We understand that occasional absences may happen due to other commitments, but members are expected to make regular attendance a priority.
