Women in Film

Welcome!

In this club, we will learn about, study, and celebrate women in the film industry. For each monthly meeting, we will carefully choose an iconic woman in the film industry to study and analyze their role in the entertainment business and how they embarked on their journey to become the inspiration they are throughout their career, from the beginning to the present day.  We will choose one or two films a month that this iconic female has either starred in, produced, or directed, that could be watched between meetings, and then during our meetings, we will discuss the film as a group. We will also focus on how the theme of feminism and female roles in movies has progressed in the industry throughout time. In addition to this, once a semester, we will invite a woman who studies or works in the entertainment industry as an actor, producer, writer, or director to give a presentation and talk about their own experiences.

Our mission is for each member of WIF to see how women have empowered the industry through the quintessential work they have displayed throughout history!
