What is VEX?
VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) involves 2v2 robot matches in which robots are to score as many points as possible during a match to beat out the opposing alliance.
The game changes every season, with this year's game is Push Back. Watch the video on the left for more info!
VRC includes middle and high school divisions.
Our organization number is 17814. We have both middle school and high school teams.
Students work together to build, code, and document their robots to compete in matches while also learning teamwork, engineering, programming, and project management.
Last year, one of our high school teams made it to the World Championships for the first time!
Meetings + Tournaments
Practice:
Mondays + Fridays from 2:30 - 4:30, and Wednesdays from 2:30-6:30
Fridays before a competition, 2:30-9:00 (dinner provided!)
Where?
We're located in the Tech & Eng room at Weston Middle School (next to back parking lot)
Tournaments:
Tournaments occur on average every couple weeks. They are usually on Saturdays and are FULL DAY EVENTS!
Weston hosts a tournament in January. The whole organization is expected to help out with setting up and managing the event.
Robotics has a time commitment on par with a varsity sports team. Expect to work long hours outside of school to prepare for competition.
Those with winter sports will miss the bulk of the season.
Our season begins in September. It'll end either in February (State Championship) or in April (World Championship).
