At the heart of the Bird Watching Club is a communal passion for birds, the natural world, and animal behavior. The purpose of this club is to foster a deep appreciation and love for birds and their importance in the world, as well as to get outdoors and identify bird species.
Meeting days/times:
Meetings are flexible, but are typically held on Tuesdays after school (2:30-ish) in Ms. Hauser’s room.
We'll meet around once every month, where we’ll talk about possible trips, which can be short or something longer; the choice is yours.
Activities:
Hiking trips and time outdoors, birdwatching.
Learning about a new species of bird at every meeting.
Friendly bird watching competitions.
The mobile apps, "Merlin" (for bird identification) and "eBird" (for keeping track of identified species).
Both are completely free and run through the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
