Frequently asked questions

Q: Where can I find step-by-step instructions for class allocation?

To access the class allocation, please follow the instruction here.

Q: How many subjects should I register per term?

The normal study load is 3 subjects per term. You have the flexibility to select from 1 to a maximum of 4 subjects, depending on your availability, and academic and financial capacities.

Q: Why is the list of subjects shown in my account different from my friends? Is it a problem?

The list of subjects is customized based on your study progress. This should not a problem.

Q: Can I change the subjects after I submitted my enrollment?

Yes, you can change the subject within the advertised deadline. To change the subjects, repeat from step 1 in the instruction, and select the new list of subjects.

Once you update your enrollment, the latest submission contains your updated enrollment status, making any prior enrollment-result automatically invalid.

Q: If the subjects I want to register for are full, what should I do?

You can opt for other available subjects. In case they are your last subjects and there are no alternatives, you can still select the subject but will be put on the waiting list. We will advise the outcome if your request is approved or rejected within 2 weeks after the closing of the enrollment due date.

Q: I can’t see the subjects to register for after logging in to MyWSUVN?

You should read the instructions again and make sure you follow them. In case you follow the steps but cannot view the subjects to register, you can take a screenshot or video and then email it to the Student Advisor Team for further instructions.

Q: Can I choose to register for both Stage 1 and Stage 2 subjects at the same time?

In order to study the stage 2 subjects, you are required to pass all stage 1 subjects. You can't study Stage 1 and Stage 2 at the same time.

Q: How do I know if I have successfully registered for the course or am still on the waiting list?

Go to the Class Allocation section. You can view your registration results in the "Below is your current enrollment" section.

If the status of your enrolled class is "Confirmed", rest assured that you have secured a slot for this class.

If it is "Waitlist", it means the class you registered has reached its maximum enrollment capacity and you are now in queue. If there is any confirmed student change their mind, you can submit an update request to take this slot, or opt to another available classes.

Q: If I am on the waitlist, will I be automatically assigned to the class when a student drop?

This is not an automatic process. If there is a slot, you can submit an update request to get it. Note that the approval will be on a first-come first-served basis.

If there are other classes or subjects with available slots, you are strongly recommended to consider registering for those.

Q: When will I find out the results of my waitlisted classes being approved or rejected? If rejected, how can I re-register in another class?

After the registration due date, the university will review the registration results to make a decision whether the requests are approved or not.

The final results will be updated and announced on mywsuvn.info before the census date each trimester. If your waitlisted subjects are not approved, you should explore alternative available classes and change it before the census date.
