Masterclasses are a chance for our global partners to engage with our attendees in an interactive environment. They allow our partners to curate content for Web Summit attendees in a private and dedicated space, position themselves as industry experts in front of a targeted audience, and generate quality leads. Please review this page carefully ahead of your masterclass submission.
Please note this is a contractual benefit only.
To help the flow of your masterclass on the day, we want to collect some information prior to the event regarding lead generation and masterclass slides. This will also help you and your team to think about the running of your masterclass.
Step 1 : Please select your preferred masterclass time slot by as soon as possible, using the schedule link provided by the Web Summit team. Time slots are granted on a first come first served basis.
Step 2 : Complete your onboarding form to create your partner profile. The logo you submit will be used for your masterclass board.
Step 3 : Once you have confirmed your masterclass time, you will be sent an email with a form to submit the title, synopsis and host details for your masterclass by the deadline of October 4.
Step 4 : Assign tickets to your team and your masterclass host so they can create their profiles.
Step 5 : Masterclasses will be released a few weeks out from the event. The Partner Success Team will confirm your room number. Check out the "How to promote your masterclass" section below.
Step 6 : Complete your masterclass preferences form for a smooth experience on site.
The synopsis of your masterclass is your elevator pitch. It’s your chance to grab the audience’s attention prior to the session. Whether you’re solving a problem or discussing the latest trends, make sure the synopsis is short (200 characters or fewer) and engaging, and that it addresses the topic.
To ensure a higher attendance rate for your masterclass, try to avoid creating a very niche topic, such as a session around a particular product that is being sold by your company. Higher performing topics can be broad and appealing to all attendeess. We recommend that you avoid sales pitches at all costs.
Points to note:
Keep your target audience in mind. Don’t include too much detail, and remember: less is more.
To maximise your masterclass’s exposure in the lead up to the event, please submit your title, synopsis and host details on the form provided by the deadline of October 4.
All content is subject to approval.
Please advise your masterclass host to complete their app profile as far in advance of the event as possible, as this will feature in the schedule.

When running a 45-minute masterclass, the recommended structure is 30 minutes of content followed by 15 minutes of Q&A with the audience. It is of course at your discretion how you would like to structure your time, but please note that a Q&A element must be included within your 45 minutes. Use your time wisely!
Avoid sales pitches at all costs. Attendees don’t like them, and they don’t work.
Masterclasses are an opportunity to position yourself as a thought-leader, so presenting curated, engaging, high-quality, topical content is a must. Share your experience, insights and know-how in areas such as leadership, strategy, policy, entrepreneurship and/or development.
We recommend having a maximum of between 1-4 hosts.
Please ensure your host has been assigned a ticket so they feature on the schedule.
Masterclasses will launch several weeks out from the event and will feature on the official schedule on the Web Summit app and website.
We will be promoting the masterclasses to our attendees ahead of the event, sharing with them a link to pin the masterclass sessions to their schedule.
We recommend that you share the masterclass title, host, synopsis and link with your own network ahead of the event, to ensure that they can add the session to their personal schedule.
Please ensure your host completes their profile on our app. Once assigned, they’ll appear on our masterclass schedule on both the website and our mobile app.

There are two ways of generating leads at the door of your masterclass. Scanning attendee’s lanyards at the door, or directing attendee’s to connect with your partner profile via your A1 QR code board.
Company scanning mode
You will great and scan attendee’s at the door and scan their lanyards using company scanning mode
The source of the lead will appear under the name of your team member who scanned the attendee
Please note: The attendee must accept your connection before they convert to a lead. This will appear as the time the scan was accepted
QR code
Each masterclass logo board will have a QR code
By scanning this QR code the attendee will connected directly to your company profile (once they accept the T’c & C’s)
You can encourage attendees to scan the QR code at the top of the queue - or using your logo board at the door.
