Programme of Study
The programme of study followed by all students in Years 10 and 11 consists of GCSE courses, each of two years duration. In addition, lessons are provided in Physical Education, Careers Guidance and Personal, Social, Citizenship and Health Education, which do not lead to a qualification.
The programme of study consists of two types of course:
A Common core;
B Option subjects;
1. The common core studied by all students:
English Language
English Literature
Science – either a double (with an option for triple) GCSE certification
Mathematics
The other option subjects available:
The option part of your programme of study is made of four subjects chosen from the subject groups listed below.
Students should choose:
at least one “EBacc” subject (in bold below) - History, Geography, MFL, Triple Science or Computer Science, and
options from at least three different Colours.
Please be aware that only one course taught at the |College of further Education can be studied as the courses they deliver are all taught at the same time
