Today, students were introduced to the Social Studies classroom. We discussed typical rules and procedures while participating several "Get to Know You" activities.

Homework: Be sure to bring in your electronic device for tomorrow's activities!

Tuesday, August 29

Today, students used various electronic device to log in to WCPSS applications, including email and Google Classroom. We then composed a "Dear Future Me" letter that will be delivered to our WCPSS email close to the end of the 8th grade year where we look back on how far we have come! Formal notebooks were set up, including the addition of sheet protectors and a Table of Contents.

Wednesday, August 30

Today, students were introduced to the Social Studies standards vocabulary. These vocabulary terms will be crucial as students engage with the 8th grade SS standards this year. Students were also introduced the Vocabulary Choice Board that will be used throughout the year. We connected the standards to the choice board by matching up the verbs of the standards with the activities listed on the choice board.
