Students were given about 30 minutes during class to complete the Bruiser test from Friday. If students already finished their test, or as they were finishing, students joined vocabulary.com from the Google Classroom, and read Harrison Bergeron while taking guiding notes. Students were expected to finish the reading and notes for homework, if not completed during class. The PDF and guided notes are included to the right.
Students read two articles pertaining to Kurt Vonnegut, the author of "Harrison Bergeron." Students discussed multiple aspects of Harrison Bergeron, and worked towards understanding the deeper meaning created through Vonnegut's use of satire and irony.

Students worked in collaborative groups to read "Designer Babies: Creating the Perfect Child." Students created an author's purpose tree map based off the article . This will be a minor grade in Quarter 4.

Students discussed themes of Flowers for Algernon, and dove deeper into the ending of the story. The class finished watching the last bit of the film, Charly, which is based upon Flowers for Algernon.
Students finished what was left of the film, Charly, and were introduced to the mini-project for Flowers for Algernon.
Students worked the entirety of class on the mini-project, which was introduced and somewhat started on Friday. Students have a day and a half to complete this mini-project in class, in their groups.
Students had the first half of class today to work in their groups & finalize their mini-project presentations. The last 20 minutes of class began presentations, which carried through the next day.
