VYAYAM is happy to offer the 200 hour in person / live online yoga teacher training (200 hr YTT) recognized by Yoga Alliance (YA)of USA.
Completion of this training will enable the trainees to register with Yoga Alliance (www.yogaalliance.org) for the RYT -200 (Registered Yoga Teacher - 200 hr) designation by paying the applicable dues to YA. This designation is widely recognized in the yoga and fitness industry, and many a times, is a required qualification to start teaching yoga in various settings, such as yoga studios, fitness clubs, community centers.
Even if one doesn't want to start teaching yoga right away, this teacher training is an excellent way to deepen one's personal physical and spiritual practice, grow one's understanding of yoga philosophy, and improve one's quality of life by developing body - breath - mind awareness.

Objectives of VYAYAM's SARVANG Yog 200 hr YTT :
1) To discuss various definitions of yoga from different yogic texts, and eight limbs of yoga based on Yoga-Sutra by Patanjali.
2) To familiarize trainees with basic joints and glands exercises, and at least 60 basic yoga postures in a combination of various standing, seated, supine, prone, lateral, twisting, and inverted asanas - their names, benefits, related anatomy, precautions, and cueing guidelines.
3) To demonstrate usage of different props such as blocks, straps, walls, chairs, wheels in assisting / advancing different yoga poses.
4) To acquaint trainees with importance of breathing, qualities of a good breath, three connections of a breath, and 8 Pranayam techniques.
5) To introduce trainees to Yoga Nidra, meditation techniques, mantra chanting with correct Sanskrit pronunciation, seven chkaras, five koshas, and basic concepts of Ayurveda.
6) To give ample small group / one on one teaching practice to all YTT trainees.
Through VYAYAM's SARVANG Yog YTT, trainees will be exposed to different styles of yoga practice, such as Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Chair Yoga, Kriya Yoga, and Laughter Yoga.
Lead Teacher - Vidya Nahar, MSY, ERYT-500
Vidya Nahar, MSY, ERYT-500, embodies a lifelong journey of healing, teaching, and transformation through yoga. With over 40 years of personal practice and more than 21 years of teaching experience, she is a beacon of wellness for the northwest suburbs of Chicago through her organization, VYAYAM (www.vyayam.com).
Born and raised in Mumbai in the 1970s, Vidya overcame chronic childhood illness through the power of yoga—an experience that sparked her lifelong passion. Her daily practice of Asana and Pranayama not only brought her health but also ignited a deep commitment to share this ancient wisdom with others.
In 2004, she began teaching yoga after completing her 200-hour certification from Lotus Yoga Teacher Training Center. Since then, she has developed and taught a wide range of yoga styles—Sarvang Yog (her own style), Hatha, Vinyasa, Kriya, Chair, Yin, Laughter Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, and Yoga-Pilates Fusion—to a diverse community spanning ages 5 to 85.
Vidya completed her 500-hour advanced training at Rishikesh Yog Peeth in 2016 and has been offering a Yoga Alliance-recognized 200-hour teacher training program since 2017. Today, she teaches over 80 live classes per week, both in person and online.
In 2022, she earned her Master of Science in Yoga Therapy from Vivekananda Yoga University (VaYU), where she is now pursuing her PhD. Her YouTube channel ( youtube.com/c/vidyanahar ) features over 100 videos, including a unique 8-week research project on yogic prevention of hair fall.
A passionate community leader, Vidya has hosted free Sunrise Yoga in the Park every Friday of June since 2011, and organizes annual International Day of Yoga celebrations with yoga poster and speech contests and community yoga practice sessions for all ages. She frequently offers specialized workshops on topics like “Yoga for a Healthy Back”, “Laughter Yoga”, "Chair Yoga', and “Yogic Breathing Techniques.”
Vidya's work has been widely recognized, including the ICAN 2017 Award for Best Fitness Professional and second prize in the “My Life My Yoga” global contest by India’s Ministry of Ayush in 2020.
Through her tireless dedication and vibrant community presence, Vidya Nahar continues to inspire generations—proving that yoga truly is a practice for life.
Time Commitment -
VYAYAM's sixth SARVANG Yog 200 hour YTT will run in person / live online via zoom from September 6, 2025 to March 7, 2026 - covering a period of 26 weeks, offering at least 180 hours of direct contact learning with the lead teacher, and more than 50 hours of non-contact learning through assigned reading and video assignments.
Classes will meet online via zoom / in person every Saturday 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and every Thursday 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
All times are according to the central time zone.
Thanksgiving break will be observed November 27 - 29, winter break will be observed December 25, 2025 - January 1, 2026.
90% class attendance is mandatory for each trainee to graduate from VYAYAM's SARVANG Yog YTT.
All teacher trainees are required to attend at least two in-person / online live group yoga classes offered by VYAYAM per week.
Qualifications to enroll for VYAYAM's SARVANG Yog 200 hr YTT :
1) Minimum one year of at least once a week group or private yoga class practice with an RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher).
2) One letter of reference from your yoga teacher or your fellow yoga practitioner from your group yoga practice.
3) One letter of reference from any other professional acquaintance.
4) An essay of 2-3 paragraphs, explaining why you want to attend this YTT.
