Science
The students will start the week by taking the NWEA science assessment. Please see the newsletter from Mrs. Syron for more details. Then, students will begin learning about forces and motion.
Reading
Mathematics
Algebra:
Student are reviewing and having their first quiz this week on Multi-Step equations (along with Literal Equations). This is Friday 9/15. We will be working with inequalities next!
Pre-Algebra:
Students took their first quiz of the year, learning how I grade assessments, as well as how my retake process is. We are beginning our Exponent and Scientific Notation journey next!
Reading/Writing
Reading: Student are working on Notice and Note Signposts to be able to complete a literary analysis of a text. Students should be reading 20 minutes a night. We have started a vocabulary unit. Students have 10 words and we will have our test on 9/21. There is a Quizlet study tool in Google Classroom.
Writing:
Next week, we will begin to work on grammar using Patterns of Power. Also, student will be working on writing a literary analysis to provide evidence and reasoning.
History
We are learning about American Indians. Activities will include a brain dump, primary source readings, viewing historical images, think pair share, classroom discussions and American Indian Project.
Students will do research about a particular tribe to better understand life in the early Americas through the world view of a real tribe and their experience.
