Reading
Mathematics
Algebra:
Students finalized their graphing unit with a test! We will be heading into Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities next!
Pre-Algebra:
Students learned all about slope this week and are beginning to learn about graphing linear equations on a graph, without a t-chart!
Reading/Writing
Reading:
We have finished our Limetown podcast and we will start writing questions in preparation for our Socratic Seminar on Friday. Students will be writing question to pose in the seminar as well as answering them with evidence. This will be for a grade. Later, students will respond to a question about the seminar and write a literary analysis response.
Writing:
We started our unit on writing personal narratives. Students will be writing a picture book for elementary-aged students based on a tradition. We have been discussing different types of traditions we have. In addition, students are learning about the elements of a personal narrative.
History
We have analyzed all four pieces of Salem Primary Sources. Students have spent time summarizing what each piece of evidence is and have written down connections each document has to what we already know about the Salem Witch Crisis. Students will take a summative assessment to demonstrate their learning about Salem. Students will answer the question, 'What caused the Salem Witch Crisis of 1692?' Students are expected to answer in a CER format where students make a claim about the cause, support the claim with evidence from the sources, and connect their reasoning to answer the question.
