SO FUCKING GOOD NOT BAITING. The story and concept of Toradora is awesome. This was my first ever romance anime, and it definitely got me into the genre. This is a great first romance anime, so Nate was smart to give me this one. I love the characters to death, the ending is perfect, I dont even really want a continuation of the story at this point, which is a rare case. The anime just did its job well. The story unraveled and developed in this beauty and fashion that no other anime quite pulls off. Toradora is a pretty old anime, being released in 2008, and I think that’s what makes it so unique to me. The music is also amazing, one of the tracks even sounds like a track from Doki Doki Literature Club.
I think watching it in dub gave it a different feel. I felt more connected to the characters in a weird way. Just like how dub feels weird and gross to watch compared to sub, for Toradora SUB feels weird and gross. The dub just worked really well and no emotional value was lost. I unironically prefer all the voices in Dub rather than Sub. The character voices are just so much more distinct and vibrant in English. This anime will always have a special place in my heart, Dub or not.
