This anime really surprised me!
I didn't really know what to expect from this show. At first I though it was supposed to be a really serious fighting anime. Then I thought it was supposed to be a comedy. After getting into it, I discovered that it's both. This anime does a very good job of blending those two genres together with creative writing and a great execution of the story. I love pretty much everything about it.
The actual story is basically parodying superhero anime by making the MC ridiculously OP. I think that concept is awesome, and it makes the show so much more fun to watch. The actual lore and development of the story is not bad for being a comedy, and it's super easy to follow, making it very fun to watch. Even so, there are still developments and cool moments that are sometimes unexpected. Really well written for a comedy. The creativity and overall funniness is top-notch.
The characters are definitely my favorite part. I love Saitama so much, almost as much as I love Koro-sensei. Genos is also super cool, and the concept of King is really funny. There are some really cool character interactions, some actually real character developments (Suiryu), and some pretty cool villains! Overall, just a great cast of characters and I'm excited to see what they do with them in and what additions they will bring.
The pacing of this show is amazing, as it's super fun and easy to watch, while having something new happen every episode. This show is easier to watch than Demon Slayer for me. It's great.
The visuals and audio (yes I changed the music category to "audio", season 2 of this show literally made me change the category name), they are really good! The visuals in s1 are a bit better than s2, as there is a LOT of blurring in s2 and the character outlines are weird. However, there is still some CRAZY scaling and animation scenes in both seasons. The sound design and music are also amazing. I especially noticed the sound design of punches and attacks in s2, and Genos's theme is a banger. Both really good aspects of this show.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed by this show. I really didn't expect much, but had a blast watching it. I can't wait to see what happens, there are so many epic moments and for an action-comedy I have literally never been more hyped during fight scenes. Amazing.
