Review:
Found through references, videos, memes, and profile pictures everywhere.
first found out about it and i thought it sounded stupid. an anime about girls in a light music club. sounded very, very boring to me. i didn't rly like your lie in april's musical storyline aspect, so i thought i wouldnt like K-on. However, I simply just dont like classical music, so I wasn't very interested in that aspect of your lie in april.
K-on is a great example of the whole Cute girls doing cute things/Slice of life dragon maid sort of deal. Follows a story but the entire anime feels like filler episodes. And sometimes that's nice. I thought id hate that sort of thing but idk why bc i literally loved dragon maid to death so idk i guess the musical concept made me turn away from it. I really liked the characters, for what it's worth, the anime was good!
overall was boring at times but was still cute, which was kinda the point i guess. The movie was pretty interesting, as it actually overlaps with ep 24, which I was pleased to see. The actual London trip was rly entertaining, and overall the movie was good. i still wanna know what azusa wrote for all the club members, and i never watched one of the OVA's so something to do with ritchan's friend was confusing.
otherwise, it was really really good. definitely one of the best comedy/slice of life anime i've watched. just was rly long, like I'm pretty sure this comes in 2nd place for the number of episodes in a single anime that I've watched. I usually discredit anime for being super long, but I think K-On’s length gave me time to gain attachment to the characters and to the story, so it was a good thing. It was really consistent and stayed semi-interesting even for a slice of life. 20th anime!
