Timelines

Map of the Multiverse:

Hover over one of the dots with the mouse to see what timeline it is (you might need to click on the map window for the keyboard controls to work).

More timelines will be added in the future!

Multiverse Organization:

The multiverse is divided into twenty sectors which are themselves divided among five belts. These one-hundred areas are referred to as regions, and each contain one-thousand different timelines. There are also an estimated twenty-thousand timelines floating about outside of the 5th belt, though these are often so chaotic and volatile that they are rarely if ever explored. Due to shift theory, these roughly 120,000 thousand timelines are a mere infinitesimal sliver of the infinite multiverse; and though they are all that this story has access too they still make for an incredibly vast world to explore.

Multiverse Travel:

Multiverse travel is rather restricted; you can't just magically teleport to whatever timeline you want after all! The speed and distance that vessels can travel between timelines through the slipstream is dependant upon the size of said vessels. A ship the size of the Salvation can travel at most about a belt (the width of a belt is the accepted distance unit of the multiverse) before needing to rest and recharge its slipdrive, with the journey taking roughly an hour usually. In contrast, one of the Salvation's shuttles can travel nearly twice that distance at nearly twice the speed! Some of the Alliance's largest ships can only travel mere fractions of a belt per jump, resulting in them slowly hopping from timeline to timeline at a meandering pace.

It is possible for a ship to travel much further and faster across the multiverse by overcharging its slipdrive, though most vessels would be torn to shreds or blown to smitherines.
