King's Life is 3 in depth1/2, 5 in depth3/4/5.
King's first teleport will be 3rd row (from the bottom) if you hit king in early turns (1-8?).
If you're planning to fight normally, you can enter from left for easier fight.
You need enough damage.
Especially useful on Tempo. (You can check any boss chests even if you throw from the 1st row.)
If you use obsidian dagger/spear, remember you can raise your multiplier by killing pawn before it hits king.
Don't do this on Monk/Coda unless you have earth or you're planning to change your weapon, or you won't be able to pick up your weapon. (If you accidentally did this, check purple for earth spell/tomes.)
Throw from the 2nd row (1st row with courage ring : the other throw strats need this kind of fix too).
If king teleport above you, this strat fails.
Pain ring's effect will be triggered after king's teleport, be careful.
Available for Monk/Coda with correct moves. (There will be no gold on weapon's tile.)
"I'd like to call that one 'the tossy tossy boom boom...'"
"Yea I'd like to call it 'tossy tossy in the trash'!"
↑left teleport ↓right teleport
Throw from the 3rd row.
Throw from the 2nd row.
You need to 1-beat react to middle teleport.
If you are really bad at reacting and it's not knight openers, probably throwing from the 3rd row is more consistent. (There looks some invalid cases for this strat. I'm not sure which is better assuming you can't react to middle teleport.)
Not available for Aria/Coda.
If there are 2+ enemies around you, 6 damage effect will be prioritized.
Available even if you have only half a heart.
You can use throw strat with earth, holy water, holster filled with weapon, throwing charm, bat form, pain boots (with the same-ish movement as throw pulse).
Some of them can't deal with middle teleport.
Dagger: works when at least one of 3rd/4th/5th pawn moves forward, or left knight opener. (There seems some other valid cases but I don't think it's worth remembering.)
Tridernt, Spear: easier
Reload twice on the 4th row (DB3+).
King will teleport before rifle's knockback, you need to shoot down if king teleports below you.
Basically the same as strategies above.
With Dash Spell, you need to go to the 3rd row. Queen won't attack you on DB3~ (unless you wasted additional turns).
You can memorize the fastest kills for all 16 pawn openers. (for DB1/2)
↓Torashi-san's video
Zepto-Torashi strat basically works with cat, except:
2→3 (completely different, watch video's 2:09)
6→7 (you don't need beat buffer via left pawn)
8→1 (you need beat buffer via right pawn instead of left pawn)
2→1 (completely different, watch video's 3:32)
You can use Zepto-Torashi strat with bat form too.
Enter from left, go left, then go up. Kill queen if you need to.
4-5, 8-7 needs adjustment.
3-4, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8, 1-8, 5-4, 6-5, 7-6, 8-7 is available for blood drum strat. "You just go up, and if/only if king is directly above you and you can hit king, you can use blood drum" rule looks working for pawn openers.
You can use this strat even with dagger-range weapons (with enough damage).
You can use a bomb too (DB1/2).
If you fail to corner king, use this strat.
There are some invalid openings, but usually this works.
Enter from left.
On DB2+, basically you need 2+ damage.
Not available for some right knight openers.
5/8 is 100% consistent
You can try this even without bomb charm :) (3/8 is 100% consistent too)
If you have bomb charm and it's DB1-2, you can just bomb the king.
1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-x, 5-4, 6-5, 7-6, 8-x : just go up
6-7, 7-8, 3-2, 1-8 : go left x 2, then just go up
5-6 : watch 0:43 of the video below (basically the same as above, except you need to kill queen and go left again to kill king)
2-1 : watch 0:33 of the video below
Available for almost all weapons, but sometimes you need to tank a hit.
Pawn Opening: Except 6->7 or 2->1, all you need is to push up key. (For 6->7/2->1, you need to wait few turns.)
Left Knight Opening: You can use left knight at least.
Right Knight Opening: ?
Throw from 4th row.
Knight-proof if you enter from left.
Available for DB1/DB2.
For DB3+, you need something else to kill king after he teleports.
Blast helm is available only for DB1/2.
For left knight opening, you need some fix.
On DB1/2, all you need to do is push up key.
On DB3+, you need to use this strat.
Available for dagger-range weapons.
Axe need some fix but works fine.
I learned this strat from Abu's 9chars video.
