U-Report on the Move Case Studies & Mapping of Best Practices

MAY 2021 - The U-Report platform has been adapted to address the specific needs and aspirations of some of the most vulnerable groups - the young displaced population, migrants or refugees, either along their journey or in the country they currently live/their final destination

When adapted to the “on-the-move’ populations, U-Report provides the means to disseminate information, collect relevant data, provide a platform for individual case management and for a comprehensive migrant and refugee response.

In collaboration with HQ, UNICEF ESARO C4D recently published U-Report on the Move Case Studies & Mapping of Best Practices. This report highlights four case studies leveraging U-Report on the Move in Italy, Venezuela, Iraq and Uganda. The case studies outline the U-Report landscape in each country (target audiences, governance, platform management) and describe each package of activities, including scaling the programs and engaging target audiences.

U-Report is a user-friendly, cost-effective, anonymous social messaging tool that allows users (U-Reporters) to access information, speak out on issues that affect them and communities, encourage citizen-led development and create positive behavior and social change. Now in its 10th year, U-Report is currently active in over 80 countries with more than 14 million users, out of which 14 countries and 2 million U-Reporters are in Eastern and Southern Africa.
