Engaging Religious leaders in Ebola Virus Disease preparedness in border districts
JULY 2021 - An Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak was declared in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in August 2018, putting neighboring countries such as Uganda on high alert of potential cross-border transmission. As part of EVD preparedness, UNICEF Uganda engaged religious leaders and traditional healers with targeted messages and audience-specific dialogue sessions.
