DECEMBER 2021 - A story from UNICEF Kenya recently appeared in The Star newspaper, describing the impactful leadership of religious leaders during COVID-19 vaccination drives.
The story demonstrates the critical role religious leaders have played in supporting the vaccination and prevention drives. Most recently, this has been through a partnership with the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya (IRCK) and Ministry of Health, where over 280 places of worship – including churches, mosques and temples – will be opened as vaccination centres, so that congregations can get vaccinated immediately after listening to a sermon on the subject.
