TCL 2019 Game against Slammers

Match Report:

It is always tough for me to write report on losing games. But this is one of the game I don't feel the same. I am proud of the team the way we gave a fight. The game went all the way to penultimate ball of the game. I agree the game should have gone in our favor long before that but who can control the destiny. The opponents went from 8 for 36 to all the way to finish line. Good win for the opponents and they deserve it. But I have no regret at all from this game. We can't win every game 😊

Here is the way the game unfold in front of us, we all reached on time except 1 or 2 and started catch practicing and stretching. I would say that's why we didn't drop a single catch in the game. We were ready to go and start where we left off from the previous game. It was at the same ground and we started calling as our home ground. Toss happened and I lost it again, maybe I will not go next time for the toss 😝 We were asked to bat first and Sivasankar (#TitansStud) opened the innings with #TitansSehwag. Before we even settle down #TitansSehwag was back in pavilion. #TitansLA went and didn't want to stay longer and run around. Then #MadCaptain and #TitansStud had a small partnership going but both #TitansStud and #TheBestTeamMan were clean bowled by some good quality pace bowling. We needed a good partnership and Chaitu (#MrCouchPotato) stepped up to the challenge and we had a good 20 run partnership. One direct throw took #MadCaptain out of the game and #MrCouchPotato also got out at the same score. #HumanComputer and #SeriousGuy had a good partnership at the end and we reached somehow a score of 61. We knew this is a defendable score considering our strength areas which is bowling and fielding. But it would not be fair to give credits to opponent's bowling, none of our batsmen were able to attack their bowlers and play freely.

Anyways in came our bowling and fielding turn. We were right on the money from the very first ball, #SeriousGuy and #SilentKiller started the mission of destructing their top order and they went above and beyond. Suddenly the score for opponents were 5 for 15 in 6 overs. We didn't stop there, #HumanComputer and #MrCouchPotato took next 3 wickets and they were 8 for 36 in 12 overs. I would be lying if I say that we thought we got this game, if I may we all felt the same. But little did we know what was written in destiny for us. One batsman from opponent took time to get set and started hitting the ball at will. He hit 3 huge sixes which took us out of the game. But #TheBestTeamMan brought us back in game in 1st ball of last over by taking that batsman's wicket. Their last batsman was in and they needed 2 runs to win. The next 3 balls were dot balls and we thought we are back in the game. The last man was able to hit the fifth ball for 2 runs and they took away the game that we almost had it. It almost felt like someone took the chocolate/sweet out after putting in the mouth.

But next few minutes really surprised me, considering there are so many new players in the team. Our heads were not down and shoulders were not drooping. Everybody started supporting and encouraging each other. We all were aware of the reality, and nobody wanted to escape from it. The sign of a good team member is to be a good loser. I have absolutely no regrets from this game, I am positive that we all will have a good season this year looking at the way we fight under pressure. The real character of team comes out when they are up against a challenge like this.

We had the game, the opponents took it away in the middle, we almost fought back, and unfortunately we lost at the end. There are so many instances where we feel we should have done this or that at the end of the game. This happens in any game and we all might have experienced it in the past. One thing we learned from this game, and we all heard it so many times, "It's not done until it's done". But let's tweak that a little bit from now on, "We will tell when the game is done". It’s good that we lost this game, it was a reality check for us and it will help us in becoming more conscious for the next time. Don't forget about this game ... I am sure opponents will not 😊

Men of the Match - The entire team for not giving up until end.

Positives:

1. Win as a team and lose as a team.

3. Bowling and fielding was outstanding.

4. Energy on the field was same like last game. Let's continue this going on.

Negatives:

Still no negatives, but I blame myself for this loss. I should have done a better job in planning to have 11 fielders on the field. I apologize, and I swear that it will not happen again.

Keep continuing this #madness on the field.
