Apr 28 2012 - vs Hurricanes (TCL)

A good start for Titans in TCL 2012. It was an easy win for Titans against a unusually depleted Hurricanes. There were only 4 regular Hurricanes players. We won the game with our discipline bowling and fielding, batsmen had to just do the formalities to finish the game. We lost the toss and asked to field. I started the bowling decently and drew first blood in the last ball of the first over, then Avinash and Shan and bowled superbly in the bowling powerplay to get 3 more wickets without adding any siginificant numbers to Hurricanes score. Debutant Avinash bowled crisp line and length and conceded only 3 runs and took a wikcet and he effected a runout with a direct hi, which earned him the Man of the match. Shanmug also bowled very good, he conceded only 4 runs in 2 overs and took 2 wickets, but no runs came off the bat. He was in the running for man of the match, but he was voted off in favor of Avinash :-). Francis, Sudhir and Kalyan also bowled superbly. Francis bowled wicket to wicket and conceded only 4 runs in 2 overs. Sudhir and Kalyan were in the line of fire, Sachin Hurricanes captain played captains innings and punished anything little short and scored four boundaries in his total 17 runs, but he couldn't keep going against Kalyan's smart bowling. Sudhir also effected a superb runout wih a direct hit. All in all, it was a very good day in the field.

Openers were tentative, except one pull shot by Vishwa to bounday. Chanakya played senisibly for a low score chase. Sudhir had a brief cameo, Sourav and Dinesh had the honor of finishing the game. Dinu was cool as cucumber and played a sensible innings to finish the game scoring 13 runs
