The Perfect Surgical Experience
Let me take the honor of explaining the surgical performance performed by our bowlers and fielders today. It was hot and muggy but we had all been hungry to get on the field since last week. It was an early morning game and I reached late on the ground (can I blame it on age please 😉) but was so happy to see everyone enjoying each other’s company on the field while setting up the field. I knew right there that we are on the track. Trust me on this point based on my experience, if you trust each other and enjoy playing the game with each other … nobody can stop you from winning the game.
Everything was set and for the first time, I lost the toss this year, I prob jinxed it by mentioning it in the last report. They chose to bowl as expected due to morning dew on the grass. Vikram and Gagan went to the middle and looks like #theonlypoonjabi didn’t want to bother the opponents a lot. The #themadcaptain went in next and held on to one side until the last over. On the other side #theperfectswitchhitter did his own thing and demoralized their fielders and bowlers. It was really good to see those reverse shots, I wish I can learn that. There were just 2 or 3 small partnerships of 15+ runs in our innings. All the big hitters got out due to their good catching. Anyway we could achieve 75 runs and I thought we were probably 15 or 20 runs short but I had the confidence the score is easily 90+ for opponents considering our bowling and fielding standards.
I would like to mention one thing for our bowling and fielding department, all the effort during practice sessions is slowly showing up in the game. The way we started defending the score and kept the tempo up throughout the game was so satisfying to experience. All 5 bowlers bowled awesome and didn’t give any room to their batsmen. Special shout out to Puneet #thetitansmcgrath and Mohan #themadhitter for bowling one wicket-maiden over each. All the fielders were amazing and gave full support to the bowlers as well, the entire team put more than 100% on the field. It was a perfect game from a bowling and fielding perspective, with not a single flaw. They did a perfect surgical performance on the opponent batsmen. None of the opponent batsmen were comfortable except one. Keep up the momentum guys and show the same energy in every game. Here is the scorecard.
Man-of-the-match is #themadhitter (this time for his bowling) but the #madness title for this week goes to all the bowlers and fielders.
Strengths:
Bowling and Fielding
Team camaraderie
Opportunities:
#madness is missing in the batting department, which is not giving away your wicket easily.
Forget about all that, keep practicing hard, and the results will automatically show up.
Fun Fact: Pawanesh took the wicket of their best batsman and probably assumed that the umpire didn’t hear the sound and kept on appealing loud whereas the umpire gave him right away and we all saw and started celebrating. We all were wondering why #theniceguy was still appealing. The umpire was laughing as well. 🤣
