A glimpse of a legendary performance

The stage was set for the 2 unbeaten teams in the same group. We knew what to expect from the opponents as they were flying high with confidence from their huge previous win, where they scored a whopping 171 (probably the highest in TCL). All of us were aware that their openers are the key performers. Anyways, the toss happened and I am not surprised about the result anymore and you should not be either 😊. We were asked to bowl first as it was a dry day and they have been winning by batting first. But they were not aware of whom they were dealing with this time and we planned to defy all the odds and stats.

Their openers started fearlessly and played shots all over the place, admittedly they are really good batsmen. In the first 3 overs, they scored 24 runs without breaking a sweat. I dropped a catch, it was tough for the old man. Anyways then came the legend and we all experienced his magic in his bowling. He took both the openers in the same over. I have nothing else to mention about him other than just a salute to this legend #themcgrathoftitans and I am pretty sure everyone will join me in this act. Once we got the openers, we didn’t look back and the rest of the bowlers #theinnovator, #themadhitter, and #theperfectallrounder supported him really well and we restricted him for 65. Special shot out to #thesouthhero for stopping so many runs behind the wicket and the rest of the fielders as well. I would not be wrong in saying that we would be the best fielding team in the league right now.

We started chasing and our #theperfectswitchhitter is in his awesome form now, as he was placing the ball at will. He must be a big nightmare for the opponents as they don’t know where to keep the fielders for him. #themadcaptain joined and had a small partnership with him but wickets were falling for us at regular intervals. They were giving a good fight but #thedude sealed the deal with a six at the end. Everything was good except our middle-order batsmen. We need to work on this and based on my experience, we can go a long way once we have a solid middle-order. Forget about that for now as we know we will have to work on that. A win is a win and now the best part is we are the unbeaten team in our group and I would not say let’s win the rest of the games, let’s just give our best in all the games.
