Assault on the cricket field

It was our 5th game of the season and we all experienced a complete assault on the cricket field by our bowling and fielding unit. We knew the opponent is a new team but we stuck to our plan and strength. I wanted the team to bat first and post a huge total but luck divorced me in the toss area since the last game. Maybe someone else will go for the toss in the next game. Another important thing happened, we played the first game with our new jerseys. It was a good feeling to see everyone in the same jersey on the cricket field.

We took the field and for a change, our #thescientist and #theinnovator were not in the form today from a bowling discipline perspective. But #theniceguy , #thepromisingstar, and #themadhitter were impeccable in the bowling department. #theniceguy and #theperfectallrounder were rewarded with 3 wickets each whereas #themadhitter ended up with just 1 but he was bowling awesome line and length. I feel he has a good read of the batsman and bowls accordingly. May this continues which is good for the team. #thescientist would have been the star performer had he not bowled 4 wides, imagine bowling stats shows up as 2 overs 1 run and 2 wickets. As expected we wrapped them for 40 runs.

It was our batting turn and our openers #theperfectswitchhitter and Dushyant #theabsentminded went in and didn’t come back 🙂 We knew that this is the perfect opportunity to get some positive run rate under our belt but the funny part is whenever both of them were defending the ball or not hitting the ball, we were booing them from the sideline 🤣 Hopefully, they didn’t mind. Anyways they didn’t disappoint and scored the required runs within 5 overs. As always, it was great to see #theperfectswitchhitter’s reverse shots. Slowly he became a master of those shots. I don’t think you can bowl to him without keeping a deep point or third-man fielder. Here is the scorecard of the game.

Man-of-the-match was well-deserved #theniceguy but the madness award goes to him and #thepromisingstar.

We will have an easy game like this and we should celebrate these wins as a team. We also know that we are not going to win every game we play. We should also celebrate the losses as we get a chance to learn from them. The real and strong team are those who stay together when they are not doing so well. So, win or loss doesn’t matter as long as we put all our efforts into the game. Thank you!
